Cancellation policy

This is the general cancellation policy for Escape Hair Strensall. Specific cancellation terms for each bookable service, such as refund tiers and the notice required, are also shown when you make a booking and in your booking confirmation email.

Cancelling your booking

If you need to cancel a booking you have made with us, please do so as soon as possible. Most bookings can be cancelled using the cancel link in your confirmation email, or by replying to that email to let us know.

When you cancel, the email you receive includes details of any refund you are entitled to, based on the cancellation terms of the service you booked.

Refunds

Where a service has a published cancellation policy, refunds are calculated according to the amount of notice given. The specific tiers, for example a full refund with 48 hours’ notice and a partial refund with less, are shown to you at the time of booking and again in your confirmation email.

Where a service does not have a published refund policy, refunds are handled on a case by case basis. Please contact us at escapehairstrensall@gmail.com to discuss your situation.

Cancellations or changes by us

Very occasionally we may need to cancel, reschedule or change a booking, for example because of illness, a venue issue, or insufficient numbers for a class or event. In that situation we will contact you as soon as possible and offer either a full refund or the option to move your booking to another date.

Late arrival and no-shows

We do our best to accommodate late arrivals where possible, but cannot extend a session or event beyond its scheduled end time if it would affect other customers. Customers who do not arrive and do not contact us in advance are treated as no-shows and may not be eligible for a refund.

What information do we collect

We only collect basic personal data about you.

Why we need it

We need to know your personal data so that we can provide you with the products, services and newsletters that you have requested. We will not collect any data that we do not need in order to provide and oversee this request.

This information is not shared with third parties other than the service providers named below, and you can unsubscribe at any time by phone, by email or through our website. We will only use this information if you have made a purchase from us or actively signed up to our newsletter via the website.

How long do we keep your data

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address and contact details) for a minimum of six years, after which time it will be destroyed. The information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive it.

Use of your information

Where you book an appointment or buy from us, your details are shared with our booking provider, Fresha, only so far as is needed to fulfil that booking or order.

Storing your personal data

In operating our business via the Escape Hair Strensall website, your data is processed by our website provider, Squarespace, by our booking provider, Fresha, and, if you join our mailing list, by our email provider, Mailchimp. We do not run our own IT servers. No other third party has access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

We do our utmost to ensure that our server hosts are secure and fully accredited.

Storage of payment details

We do not store credit card details, nor do we share customer details with any third party. Any payments are taken securely through Fresha, our booking provider.

On occasion we include links to third parties. Where we provide a link it does not mean that we endorse or approve that site’s notice towards visitor privacy. You should review their privacy notice before sending them any personal data.

Use of cookies

Cookies provide information regarding the computer used by a visitor. We may use cookies where appropriate to gather information about your computer in order to assist us in improving our website.

We may gather information about your general internet use by using the cookie. Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally; it is statistical data which does not identify any personal details whatsoever.
